TaskMaster



I want to showcase a new application I have created. This is a simple application which enables tablet users to view their open tasks and manage them. The application is designed to be intuitive and user friendly and provide simple but effective process flow.

 Highlights

  1. Implementation of jQuery Mobile with Visualforce
  2. Google maps with driving directions
  3. Signature capture via SignaturePad (jQuery based plugin).


 Following are the screens of the application:-

  1. Task List
    • Grading of tasks based on current week, next week and future tasks to prioritize based on their due date
    • Displays only open tasks
  2. Task Detail
    • Displays task detail
    • Fields to be displayed can be managed via fieldset, hence can be customized by admin
    • Displays account location on google maps and suggest driving directions
  3. Close Task
    • Ability to close task in one click
    • Ability to capture customer signature while closing task
    • Just a small app. Hope you like it.

Lightning: Generate PDF from Lightning components with in-memory data

I'm sure as everyone is diving into lightning components development, they are getting acquainted with the nuances of the Lightning components framework. As well as, its current limitations. Being a new framework, this is bound to happen. Although we have our users still using salesforce classic, we have started using lightning components framework our primary development platform and Visualforce is considered primarily for rendering lightning components within Classic Service console. Recently, while re-architecting a critical module, we encountered a problem wherein we needed to generate PDF from lightning components. Now, being Javascript intensive framework, it has limited room for such features (may be included in future roadmap). As of now, there is no native feature within the lightning framework to do so (at least I didn't find anything).
